About

I’ve shipped the code, sold the work, and run the business.

I run Atelier at PurpleBlossom.ai, a senior practice helping mid-market companies get real results from AI—built and shipped, not slide-decked. Most AI consultants have one credential. I have three.

1

He ships.

I’m a senior software developer with production Claude Code work behind me, after two decades in enterprise open source at Canonical and SUSE—the unglamorous kind, where it has to work on someone else’s machine, on a deadline. A lot of my work runs through Claude Code now, and I write honestly about what that’s actually like: the real leverage it gives, and the places it confidently gets things wrong.

2

He’s sold & led go-to-market.

I spent much of those two decades in go-to-market and partner leadership at Canonical and SUSE, so I engage a CTO and a CMO with equal fluency—not as “the technical guy explaining limits.” That matters with AI, where the people who understand the technology and the people who own the outcome usually aren’t the same people. I can talk to both.

3

He’s run the business.

And I’ve run the business end myself: a decade with my own software-development consulting practice, and before that a practice whose product was sales and marketing collateral. I know what a result has to earn before it’s worth anything—which keeps me honest about the difference between an impressive demo and something you can actually depend on.

How I think about it
The goal isn’t to be “AI-first.” It’s the result you set out to get—at whatever level of AI use actually serves the business.

Revenue, productivity, quality, customers. I work in fixed-scope engagements across two lines—Claude Code adoption and custom builds for engineering teams, and AI-in-the-workflow for business teams. And I’ll tell you where AI won’t help, which is the part most AI consultants skip. Based in Colorado; I work with teams in the Bay Area and Dallas.
